Bookmas Day 4: Four Books to Cozy Up with on a Winter's Night

Guys, it's almost Christmas!! Hailey @ HailsHeartsNYC created a 12 days of Christmas based book challenges alongside a "read as much as you can" readathon. She made a video explaining each of the daily challenges on her youtube channel here.

On the fourth day of Bookmas, my true love gave to me four cozy reads.

When I think of cozy reads, I think of fantasy books and historical fiction. Any kind of book that is very atmospheric and draws you into the setting.

  • The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater: Such an atmospheric book. You get drawn into this story of psychics and landlines and mystery and amazing friendships. You really get to know the characters, and you almost feel as if they are really there with you. (Also, highly recommend the audiobook.)
  • Vicious by V.E. Schwab: Dark book with superpowers and morally grey characters. This is a book that you can curl up with on the couch and just not want to leave the couch until you've finished. Also, amazing friendships.
  • The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare: A mix of historical fiction and fantasy. Also a very marathonable trilogy. This screams cozy to me. What do you mean you don't want to read about demons? Yes, you do.
  • The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick: Easy to read historical fiction plus pictures. What more could you ask for? Also you'll feel accomplished because you just read this giant book even though half of it is pictures.
What do you think of when you think of cozy reads? Tell me down in the comments!
