#FridayReads | 12 February 2016

I'm starting to have my Fridays off of work again! It's a wonderful, magical thing.

Also, jokes on you if you thought I would actually do #Rainbowthon . . . but here's to hoping that I might finish off with a bang? Technically I still will have read from books of four colors of the rainbow. That's close enough, right?

I am about halfway through ADSOM and my reread of The Martian, so I really want to get those read and finished very soon.

Also, I have never read The Wizard of Oz. For as many times as I have seen the movie, this is basically a sin.

Guys, I love Maggie Steifvater. In these last few weeks of the year, she has quickly climbed to be one of my top authors ever. I am about a third of the way through The Dream Thieves and I am absolutely head over heels in love with Ronan. I love how this book focuses a lot on Ronan and his past and his life. It's just really amazing.

And since #Cramathon starts tomorrow, I really want to try and finish The Dream Thieves today. Or at least read as much of it as humanly possible (and considering I read 300 pages of Clockwork Princess last Saturday, I think I can do it).

Also, I am supposedly halfway through My True Love Gave to Me. In reality, I haven't read any of it, so I want to read as many stories as I can of this anthology this weekend.

#FridayReads | 11 December 2015

Remember how I said I had a reading schedule for December? That was evidently a funny joke because I have already abandoned one book, started a new one, and am behind the ones that I am actually reading. (However, I like to tell myself that I am saving up my energy for Cramathon in December and TBR Takedown in January.)

Any how, I just finished The Raven Boys on audiobook yesterday (I may type up a review for it soon) so I can fully devote myself to Clockwork Princess (I am only about 100 pages in and loving it) and picking back up Mistborn where I left it a few months back.

I might also end up starting The Dream Thieves on audiobook because I need to prep a lot of posts for the next two weeks.

Being out of school is great, y'all.

Also, since I am not going to be doing a Stacking the Shelves tomorrow, here are some of the posts you might have missed from this past week!

#FridayReads - 13 November 2015

This isn't a requested feature on my blog, but I do enjoy doing it. It's a personal TBR for the day (because heaven knows I never follow my monthly ones) where I can give y'all an insight into what I'm currently reading.

While my sidebar says I am currently reading Magnus Chase, I am actually currently reading Illuminae. I'm only about 20 pages in, but it's so interesting already.

I am going to (forcibly) break up reading Illuminae by finishing two of the books I needed to have finished for school a couple of weeks ago: The Stranger and Beloved. Finals are coming up, and I only have the last fifty pages or so in each of these, and tonight is the perfect night to knock them out.

#FridayReads - 3 July 2015

I actually have a reasonable TBR for this weekend.

I know, I know. Crazy.

I only have about 100 pages left of Ignite Me. If you want to know my immediate reaction to finish this wonderful, wonderful book, you should follow me on instagram/twitter. I'm sure there will be lots of fangirling.

I was supposed to be participating in a readalong for Shadow and Bone this past week (oops) but more interesting things happened, so I need to start and finish that by Sunday. I have confidence in myself.

And in between (or if Shadow and Bone ever gets a little dull) I want to read Ms. Marvel this weekend. I might pick up another comic bind up as well. I just need to save one for the cramathon next weekend.

#FridayReads - 26 June 2015

Okay. I am catching up on long-gone bandwagons this Friday. While drinking my morning coffee (even though, YES, it is 11AM, but I just woke up so it's my morning coffee), I am about 25% way through Unravel Me  by Tahereh Mafi. I need more Warner in this book, like there's been one mention of him thus far . . . I am hoping for more. I like this one a little less than Shatter Me  at the moment, but I am thinking (and hoping) that it gets loads better. I am still enjoying though.

I am also about 140 pages into ACOTAR. If I can surpass 50% by the end of today, I will be ubsurdly happy. I am enjoying this so  much more than I liked Throne of Glass  because Feyre is not as perfectly annoying (both perfect and annoying) as Celeana (?) is. Feyre is basically a more sex-driven and less talented Katniss. Also, does this story ever go outside of the castle/mansion/manor?

Also, I am off-and-on listening to Mosquitoland  by David Arnold. The narrator is hilarious and this story is amazing in and of itself.

What are you reading this Friday? Does Juliette get less annoying? Does Adam ever  go away? Tell me down in the comments!

Happy Reading!

#FridayReads - 29 May 2015 - I Need Your Help!

I'm leaving for Peru on Monday morning, and I still haven't decided what to bring with me for the plane ride (one there and one back). I thought about bringing two and putting one in my checked suitcase so that I can switch it out if I finish the one.

I'm halfway through P.S. I Still Love You , sans dustjacket because that's just how I am, and I will definitely finish that one today. I have an audiobook for when I am packing over the next few days, but I need a physical book to read on the plane. I need something gripping that won't put me to sleep.

The four books on the right are the ones I am really interested in right now. If you have read and loved (and want me to love) one of these books (or if you have a different book you think I should pick up for the plane ride) tell me down in the comments!

Happy Reading!

#FridayReads - 17 April 2015

This is overly ambitious. So, so ambitious.

I need to finish the last 100 pages of The Book Thief  for my Modern Literature course. Additionally, I need to read the first six chapters of The Help  by Kathryn Stockett by Wednesday.

Hopefully, I will finish of Day 21 , which I have been slugging through due to an increased end-of-the-year work load. I would also like to go ahead and start Homecoming  as soon as I finish Day 21.

#FridayReads - 3 Apr 2015

So my TBR for this weekend is pretty ambitious considering that I have the final draft of my thesis is due next Thursday. It's kind of terrifying, so instead of actually working on my paper, I am burying myself in books. That's just how I roll, I suppose. However, it is the last day of my spring break, so I am wanting to get as much reading done as I can before Senior Week / Thesis Crackdown starts.

So, today I want to read The Wicked + The Divine, Vol. 1: The Faust Act.  The artwork in this one is stunning, as you can see, and it should be a pretty quick read.

On Wednesday, I have to lead a discussion on parts 2 through 4 of The Book Thief.  I have exactly 100 pages left to read, but I want to go ahead and get them read by Monday, so that I have plenty of time to prepare my discussion questions. If I finish all of that, I want to read however much I can of Mistborn.  I'm really liking it so far, so I am really wanting to continue.

#FridayReads - Well, #WeekendReads

I am currently working my way through Scarlet by Marissa Meyer, of which I am currently about halfway through. I need to finish this book either tonight or Saturday because whenever I put it down, I feel like the book is just nagging at me to finish it.

So, when I finish Scarlet, I need to finish The Kite Runner for my Modern Literature class. I need to have chapters 15 through 20 read by Monday and the rest of the novel by Wednesday, so I am I just going to try and finish it up this weekend.

If by some miracle, I finish those two books this weekend and write up reviews for them, I will then pick up Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. I got this from the library today and won't be able to renew it, so I need to read it asap. I have heard nothing but wonderful things from this book from Max and Raeleen and am so excited to pick it up.

#FridayReads - 20 Feb 15

This weekend, to finish off my week snowed in and missing school, I plan to finish Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I am currently on Chapter 10: Halloween, well in reality I am currently watching the first episode of Outlander (free on iTunes, FYI) and deciding if I want to buy the $1.99 ebook version of the book (as of 10 minutes into the show, I am leaning towards yes).

So after finishing Harry Potter, I will either start Outlander by Diana Gabaldon or Cinder by Marissa Meyer. I'll have to see how I feel about the show, but I have a strong feeling that I'll end up in Scotland rather than New Beijing.

Happy Readings!

Friday Reads - 30 Jan 2015

I thought that I would show you guys what I am going to be reading this weekend. I'm not going to be doing this every Friday, but because I left the book I'm supposed to read for class at school and a package came in the mail yesterday, I thought I would show you what I'm reading throughout the weekend.

First off, I am going to be finishing The Silver Linings Playbook for my monthly TBR Jar challenge. I only have 80 pages left, so I can finish that fairly quick. Then I will start on the next beauty in the box.

(It's actually so beautiful. I don't think you understand.)

LOOK AT IT. LOOK AT IT. LOOK AT IT.

I want to do an entire blog post just showing you how pretty this book is. I won't just because I want you to go check it out. But yes, I will be reading The Mime Order after (and only after) I finish The Silver Linings Playbook.

The Mime Order will probably be taking up more than just my weekend because it is over 500 pages, but I will be starting it this weekend.

Also, keep an eye out for my January wrap-up. I will also have a book haul up soon. I have another book that needs to come in before I can do that, but soon.

Happy Readings!
